Thomas Dechat studied Biochemistry at the University of Vienna, where he also received his PhD in Biochemistry. After employment at the Medical Faculty of the University of Vienna, the Feinberg School of Medicine at Northwestern University in Chicago, USA, and the Max Perutz Laboratories (Medical University of Vienna) he joined the LBIO in 2018.
